LEEF’s loan facility supported the installation of energy efficiency measures across two sites including the headquarters of the Salters’ Company Salters’ Hall, as part of a crucial upgrade and refurbishment project. As part of the redevelopment project, Salters’ Hall will be connected to the Citigen heating and cooling network.
The energy saving measures being installed will reduce energy usage by 40% and achieve a minimum BREEAM “Very Good rating” demonstrating its commitment to the green agenda.

Outcomes
- The investment aimed to make London more energy efficient to save on energy bills and reduce CO2 emissions. At the same time, the LEEF facility, by enabling the Company to make its buildings more efficient and economical to run for itself and its future tenants, and will assist in maintaining its key charitable activities
- The Salters’ Company reduced its energy usage by approximately 40% across both the Salters Livery Hall on the Barbican campus and an office block on King William Street
- The investment helped both sites achieve a ‘BREEAM Excellent’ rating
- Improves the rental attractiveness of the property
- Forecast CO2 savings: 592 tonnes p.a.
