The team was one of the first to launch infrastructure in the listed space and to drive collaboration between the public and private sectors, developing impact-type funds and investments. Amber will continue in its role of shaping the global development of the infrastructure asset class, supporting both the public and private sectors in delivering essential and transitional infrastructure.

Alex Finch
Chief Financial Officer
Alex joined Amber shortly after the management buyout in 2009. He previously worked for 13 years with KPMG advising clients on corporate listings, acquisitions and disposals, financial reporting, controls, processes and audit, with a focus on the provision of due diligence and accounting services to infrastructure clients.
Alex has had overall responsibility for the finance function of the Group and Amber's public and private funds. He oversees all financial and management reporting, tax, accounting and forecasting across the Group. He is a member of the Amber Infrastructure Executive Committee and various Fund Investment Committees.
Alex holds a BSc (Hons) in Economics and Accounting from Bristol University and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

Michael Gregory
Chief Operating Officer
Michael is Chief Operating Officer and a co-founder of Amber, leading the Asset Management team since its inception. He joined Amber’s predecessor organisation, Babcock & Brown, in 2002 and has over 25 years' relevant experience in managing Infrastructure investments.
Michael is responsible for Amber’s management of over 175 investments across public, transport, energy, digital and demographic infrastructure.
Michael holds a BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying, MSc in Construction Project Management and a Post Graduate Diploma in Law.

Tom O’Shaughnessy
Head of North America
Tom joined Amber’s predecessor organisation, Babcock & Brown, in 2007 and is one of Amber’s founder members. Tom moved to New York to head up Amber’s US activities in November 2018. Tom has experience across sectors including Corporate Banking, Insurance, Renewables, Energy and Infrastructure and has been responsible for closing transactions with an aggregate capital value over £5bn.
Prior to joining Amber, he worked in Project & Leveraged Finance and M&A advisory. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst.

Amanda Woods
Chief Investment Officer
Amanda is a member of the Amber Executive and Investment Committee and a Board Director on a number of company boards. Amanda joined Amber in 2010 and has over 15 years’ experience in infrastructure investment. She has broad experience in investment, bid management, structuring, advising and managing operations for infrastructure investments.
Amanda has been involved in many of the transactions originated by Amber since she joined and she manages the investment, structuring and execution activities of the c.50 investment professionals within Amber. She is qualified as a solicitor, holding a prior senior position at Allen & Overy LLP in their Projects, Energy and Infrastructure group, after studying law and languages at Nottingham University.

Giles Frost
Chair
Giles was a co-founder of Amber in 2009 and was its Chief Executive until 2019. He has worked on project finance and infrastructure transactions for more than 25 years and has been involved in all aspects of origination, development, management, financing of and investment into infrastructure projects. Giles contributes to Government thinking on infrastructure development and is a regular speaker and writer on infrastructure-related matters.
Giles led the IPO of the FTSE 250-listed infrastructure investment company INPP in 2006 and is a Board Director. He qualified as a lawyer and studied law at Oxford University.

Hugh Blaney
Co-founder
Hugh was a co-founder of Amber in 2009. Hugh is a member of the Executive Credit Committee and has been involved in over 100 property, infrastructure and PPP transactions with a capital value in excess of £10bn.
He is a member of the investment advisory team of INPP and has considerable experience in originating and managing Infrastructure investments. Hugh was educated at Belvedere College and Trinity College Dublin BA(Mod) MSIS.
