Founded in 2009. Airband is an internet service provider bringing high speed broadband to homes, business and industry in rural and hard-to-reach areas. Since its inception, it has connected over 3,000 rural businesses and 440 homes, helping to drive productivity, connect communities and reduce the digital divide in the UK.

With a rapidly growing network that currently serves c. 20k homes and businesses, Airband is emerging as a leader in deep rural connectivity.

With the benefit of subsidies awarded under BDUK’s Superfast Rural Broadband programme, the Company is bringing the next generation of connectivity to rural homes and businesses that are otherwise unable to access quality and reliable broadband.  NDIF’s investment will enable Airband to deliver faster internet access to an additional 50k homes.
