Amber Infrastructure Group (‘Amber’), the specialist international infrastructure investment manager is pleased to share its inaugural sustainability report. The Global Sustainability Report provides an overview of its approach to sustainability and a summary of responsible investment performance for 2019.
The release of the report follows Amber’s award of A+ for its United Nations-backed Principles for Responsible Investment (‘PRI’) 2020 assessment for both the Strategy and Governance and the Infrastructure modules.
Consideration of ESG drivers is an essential part of how Amber assesses the long-term viability of the investments it makes and associated asset management strategies. Amber’s approach to sustainability goes beyond ESG integration through Amber Horizons, Amber’s flagship sustainability and innovation programme, which ensures that Amber draws on material trends to help drive innovation and improve investment decision making.
Amber is committed to delivering responsible and sustainable growth that is beneficial to our clients, employees and stakeholders. You can find a copy of the report here.
Gavin Tait, Chief Executive Officer, Amber Infrastructure Group, said: “I am delighted to share Amber’s first sustainability report. We have long believed that in order for our infrastructure assets to be successful, they must evidence characteristics beyond the delivery of robust financial returns and central to this is their wider, long-term contribution to a sustainable and prosperous society. We recognised this back in 2011, where we established our first sustainability fund. This report builds on our long‑standing commitment to target and measure the environmental and social outcomes in the investments we make.”
Daniel Watson, Head of ESG, Amber Infrastructure Group, said: “We’ve been encouraged by the increase in investor interest in ESG, and are pleased to share our first company-wide sustainability disclosure. Amber dedicates considerable time and resource to sustainability, and it’s great to be able to share our approach with our stakeholders.”
